Crash nodded.

“The males holding me say you went to the ship for supplies,” Tripp asked.

“I begged the khula to let us go back, to salvage what we could in hopes of finding a way off the planet for those of us who choose to go.” Crash sighed. “Drago allowed us to go and took men to protect us on the journey. When we arrived, there wasn’t much left. The Xinthpats had returned after we left and destroyed most of the remains. Wynne gathered a few things, but I’m not sure it’s enough to do what we need. He’s going to attempt to make a comm device to break through the electromagnetic field and get a message to aid in a rescue. We’d hoped to be able to find enough components left to figure out a way off world. I don’t think it’s possible now. Our only chance is for the Federated Navy to save us, and since we were the rescue mission, I doubt there will be another coming for us.”

“Even if they do come, we won’t be able to go.” Tripp said. “This is our life now.”

“There’s always a chance a breakthrough could be made and a way to break the electromagnetic tie found. Those who want to leave could go. Someday.”

“Those who want to go?” Tripp asked.

“There are men here who have come to terms with their claiming and don’t want to go home.”

Were they all mad? There was no way they would all just give up and accept sexual slavery. “I don’t blame you for the choices you’ve made, Crash. There’s no shame in submission. I’ve been in the Xinthpats’ hands, and it was hell. Surrendering your body is a small price to pay to avoid that enemy. But it’s not enough to keep you here for the rest of your life. Crash finally looked at Tripp and really looked at him. There was such a sense of peace in Crash’s eyes and Tripp’s gut clenched as he realized his friend had truly submitted. “I fought the claiming at first, but once I was honest with myself, I realized I felt whole for the first time in my life. I willingly succumbed to my masters. This is where I belong. There are others here who agree with me.”

Tripp had felt the same yearning to succumb to the triad, but he didn’t know if he should believe the voices in his head. “You don’t want to go home? Where is the captain who found me in an alley before we left and reprimanded me for losing myself in sex? Isn’t that what you’re doing here?”
